10 Days Nairobi, Samburu, Nakuru, Naivasha & Masai Mara Safari

  • This tour will give you an exclusive 2 days hop to wildlife - and wilderness - rich Tsavo West National Park, which is home to all the Big Five. You will definitely be able to see all the Big 5 within your stay thus making you hit the safari jackpot.

    From here you will head down the coast to the famous package holiday Diani beach located in South coast of Mombasa. Diani Beach will expose you to a tranquil white- sand paradise popular with its full-on resort experience plus of course plenty of water sports in the beach. Such will include, diving, snorkeling, sport fishing, wind & kite surfing.

    You will then head to Samburu National Park a rewarding adventure where you will sport the special 5,known so because they are only found in this region. These are the Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, Grevy’s’ Zebra and Gerenuk.

    A roughly southwesterly trajectory takes you down to Lake Nakuru National Park, one of Kenya’s most compact and excellent parks for buffalo, lion, leopard and rhino. And the greatest of all is the high density of birds available here, conspicuous among them, being the Flamingos.

    A loop down to Kenya’s far southwest takes you onto one of Africa’s most celebrated terrains with the Masai Mara National Reserve. You will have time to explore the home to the greatest wildlife show on earth. The great predators – lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and crocs – share the plains with vast congregations of zebras and wildebeest, while elephants and giraffes look on.

    You will then drive back to Nairobi.

    DAY 1: You will be picked from the Airport and thereafter check you in at Hilton Garden Hotel.

    7.00 am: We will leave the hotel and head to Nairobi National Park

    • You will see all of the Big Five animals of Africa (except the Elephant) on this day tour 11.00 am: Go to David Sheldrick Animal Orphanage
    • Visit the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to meet baby elephants that have mostly lost their mothers to poaching, death, or another tragedy. 12.45 pm: Visit Giraffe Centre
    • Next, meet the majestic Rothschild giraffes of the Giraffe Center, opened to protect and breed the endangered animals.
    • Get a chance to feed the giraffes in safety of a raised observation platform that allows for eye-to-eye interaction. Learn all about giraffe conservation and the various activities of the center.

    2.00 pm: Lunch at Tamabo Restaurant

    3.30 pm: Visit Karen Blixen.

    • During the tour of the typical period house, visitors will be able to gain a greater understanding of European settlements and cultivation in the early 1900s in East Africa.

    5.00 pm: Back to Hotel Hilton Garden for Overnight Rest.

    DAY 2: Nairobi to Samburu National Park.

    6.30 am: Early morning breakfast & Check-out from hotel.

    7.30 am: Depart and heads to Samburu National Park.

    • From your Nairobi accommodation, you will travel via the central highlands of Kenya which will provide you with views of coffee, tea, sisal, pineapple, and other farming activities.

    1.00 pm: Arrive in Samburu National Park and check-in at Sarova Shaba Lodge, and take your lunch.

    • From the hotel you will enjoy the view of Mount Kenya, complete with its snow-capped peaks.

    2.30 pm: In the afternoon, enjoy a game viewing drive through the Samburu, Shaba, and Buffalo Springs reserves.

    • Visit the Rhino Conservancy to see the endangered black and white Rhino
    • Lectures on Samburu culture by our resident naturalist.
    • Entertainment by local Samburu warriors.
    • Guided bush walks

    4.30 pm: Return back to the hotel for dinner and overnight rest.

    DAY 3: Full Day Game Drive in Samburu National Reserve.

    7.30 am: Early morning breakfast.

    8.30 am: Depart for a full day game drive.

    • Enjoy a full day game drive through the Samburu, Shaba, and Buffalo Springs reserves.
    • The day shall be spent with game viewing drives with relaxing interludes at the Samburu Game Reserve.
    • Game viewing drives in this dry and scenic game reserve are concentrated along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River.
    • This is where you find the rare and most endangered 5 species. These are elephants,giraffes, zebra, lions, cheetahs, buffalo, oryx, and other animal species.
    • Look for kingfisher, guinea fowl, egret, falcon, and eagle. We may also get a glimpse of the local Samburu tribes and their villages. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

    1.00 pm: Have packed lunch at Sarova Shaba Lodge

    2.30 pm: Resume the game drive for the rest of the day

    4.30 pm: Return back to the hotel for the overnight rest

    DAY 4: Leave Samburu National Reserve to Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

    7.30 am: Early morning breakfast.

    8.00 am: Depart to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

    9.30 am: Arrive at Ol Pejeta Conservancy and check-in at Sweet water Serena Camp

    10.30 am: Depart for game drive.

    • Enjoy game drive view in this 364sq km wildlife conservancy situated between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare.
    • The Endangered Species Boma is a must-see for any trip to Ol Pejeta. Here visitors can meet and learn about the Northern White Rhinos which are critically endangered with only one left in the world.
    • The boma also has six southern white rhinos, two black rhinos and numerous Grevy’s zebras and Jackson’s hartebeest.

    1.00 pm: lunch at Sweetwaters serena camp, then enjoy the hotel facilities

    DAY 5: Visit the Sweet waters Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

    6.30 am: Early Morning Breakfast.

    7.30 am: Start your game drive in the park.View the Big 5, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs among others.

    1.00 pm: Enjoy a packed lunch at the picnic site.

    2.00 pm: Visit the chimp sweet waters orphanage.

    • Visit the Sweet waters Chimpanzee Sanctuary the largest black rhino conservancy in East Africa. Learn about chimpanzee rescue and rehabilitation.
    • visit a rhino homestead and a manyatta, a reproduction of a traditional Kenyan homestead, where you can learn about Maasai, Pokot, Turkana, and Samburu cultures.
    • Learn about some of the 38 chimpanzees that live in the sanctuary’s natural enclosures,and see the primates as they approach a feeding platform.
    • Meet village residents, see traditional-style homes and dances, and shop for unique souvenirs, and in the mid-afternoon, begin the return trip to the hotel.

    4.30 pm: Return to your hotel from game drive

    DAY 6: Head to Nakuru National Park

    6.30 am: Early Morning Breakfast.

    7.30 am: Depart for Nakuru National Park.

    1.00 pm: Arrive at Nakuru National Park and take lunch.

    2.00 pm: Check-in at Flamingo Hill Tented Camp

    3.00 pm: Depart for an evening Game drive.

    • Explore Lake Nakuru with a private driver/guide
    • See brilliant flocks of pink flamingoes at Lake Nakuru and over 400 bird species.
    • There can be up to two million greater and lesser flamingoes and tens of thousands of other birds at Lake Nakuru.
    • As a result, the park is referred to as the "Birds' Paradise". The National Park is also a rhino sanctuary with excellent wildlife viewing.
    • You'll enjoy wildlife viewing as soon as you enter the park gates, and continue to enjoy wildlife viewing on the drive out of the park

    4.30 pm: Return to your hotel, relax and spend the overnight at Flamingo Hill Tented Camp

    DAY 7: Check-out and head to Naivasha.
    • Day 7 begins with an early morning game drive before breakfast. Then, depart to Naivasha as you make the final views of the game as you pass through the park.

    6.30 am: Early Morning Breakfast

    7.30 am: Depart for Naivasha.

    9.30. am: Arrive at Naivasha Sopa Hotel and Check-in.

    10.00 pm: 2-hour biking safari around the park .

    • Expect to cycle past a range of wildlife, from large antelopes to roaming zebras and everything in between.

    12.00 pm: Enjoy Lake activities like Boat ride.

    12.15 pm: 1 hour-long walk exploring the gorges

    1.30 pm: Lunch at Fisherman’s or Marina camp

    2.00 pm: Enjoy a boat ride across Lake Naivasha.

    • Encircled by verdant banks, olive trees and cactus, this lake is home to exotic birds and giant hippos

    4.00 pm: Head back to the hotel for evening and eventual overnight rest.

    DAY 8: Naivasha to Masai Mara.

    6.00 am: Early Morning Breakfast.

    7.30 am: Depart for Masai Mara National Reserve

    10.00 am: Arrive at Masai Mara National Reserve

    10.30 pm: Check-in at Mara Serena and have lunch.

    2.00 pm: Depart for a Game Drive

    • The annual wildebeest’s migration, involving over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November, is a phenomenal spectacle that can only be seen in the Maasai Mara.
    • You will have the opportunity to spot one of the Big 5—lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos.
    DAY 9: A full day game drive.

    6.00 am: Get your early morning breakfast.

    6.30 am: Depart for the Game drive.

    • Set off early for a morning game drive to witness the animal kingdom at its most active hour, on your way to the famous Mara River where thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross from Serengeti to Masai Mara each year.
    • Search for the park’s large populations of wildebeest, rhinoceros, buffaloes, lions, leopards, elephants, hippos, cheetahs, zebras, impalas, gazelles, warthogs, ostriches, Topis and Maasai giraffe.
    • A full day in the Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. See zebras, gazelles, wildebeests, and many other animals.
    • You’ll have a sunrise to sunset game viewing drive.

    1.15pm: Time for Lunch.

    • Enjoy packed lunch inside the park surrounded by beautiful sceneries and wildlife. 3.00 pm: Masai Village Visit.
    • Later in the evening while at the camp, you have an option of doing an evening guided walking safari to the Maasai villages for a chance to interact and learn more about their rich native culture.
    • This is an optional activity that is done at an extra cost of $20.

    6.00 pm: Dinner & overnight rest.

    DAY 10: Hot Air Balloon & Departure to Nairobi.
