Day 1: Nairobi To Masai Mara.

0700 Hrs: Departure from Nairobi.

Depart Nairobi in the morning after breakfast and drive down the Eastern Escarpment of the Great Rift Valley with beautiful views of Mount Longonot (an extinct volcano) and the Great Rift Valley.

We shall have a brief stop-over at the great Rift Valley viewpoint for breathtaking views.

Dinner and overnight at the Tipilikwani Mara Camp

About The Great Rift Valley.

Formed some five million years ago, the rift cuts through Tanzania, Kenya, and Ethiopia on its way from the Red Sea.

The area is ripe with volcanic activities. Among the notable ones includes bubbling geysers, hot springs, lakes, and even Mt. Suswa as you cast your eyes over the plains.

After this short 15 Minutes break, we will then continue with the journey which will take us past the base of Mount Suswa (another smaller extinct volcano) on the way to Narok and finally to the Maasai Mara National Reserve.

1200: Hrs On arrival you will be received by our Staff in the Lodge and then check in.

Maasai Mara Insight.

Maasai Mara is situated in south-west Kenya and is one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves.

This Reserve is known for its spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration and its home to the Big Five, that is, Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino and stunning sunsets. Arrive in time for lunch at the camp.

Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing eco-system. Maasai Mara National Reserve stretches 1,510 sq. km (580 sq. miles) and raises 1,500-2,170 meters above sea level.

Add the conservancies and the area is at least twice the size. It hosts over 95 species of mammals and over 570 recorded species of birds. The park is well endowed with literally all the wildlife game one would want to see during an African safari, from big prides of lions, to large herds of elephants, extremely large herds of wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, leopards, rhinos, baboons, hartebeests, hippos etc along several birds species.)

The Maasai Mara Ecosystem holds one of the highest lion densities in world and this is where over two Million Wildebeest, Zebra and Thompsons Gazelle migrate annually. Its hosts over 95 species of mammals and 570 recorded species of birds.

This is considered the 7th wonder of the new world. Wildebeest Migration. Famous for the the Great Wildebeest Migration where over 1 million wildebeest and Zebras follow an annual migratory route from and to Serengeti to Maasai Mara, it is without a doubt one of Africa’s most famous safari destinations. The wildebeest migration is nothing short of amazing. It is one of the things you have do add to your bucket list.

Best time to be in Kenya for it is JULY - OCTOBER although Kenya is a great year round destination.

1600 Hrs: There after leave for about 2hours late afternoon game drive which will unfold to you the beauty of the African Sunset. Return back to the camp for a sumptuous buffet dinner and accommodation at Mara Simba Lodge or Similar 

Accommodations: There is a wide selection of places to stay around the Maasai Mara and the conservancies. The conservancies surrounding the Maasai Mara have restricted number of vehicles allowing a more private game viewing of wildlife. We recommend enquiring about 2 or 3 properties and wait to hear from them directly. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Stay overnight in your well accommodating room/ tent which has a bed, linen, shower, and toilet inside. Mosquito nets and a hot shower in the evening are provided.

Day 2: Exclusive Game drive viewing in Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Early morning breakfast then depart for a morning game drive. You may occasionally spot enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard.

Have picnic lunch by Mara River then proceed for an afternoon game drive whereby there will be an optional opportunity to visit Maasai village and have a glimpse of their centuries’ old traditional way of life, social structures and culture. Dinner and overnight stay at the Camp.

Hot Air Baloon Services can be Arranged. On this day you will have very early morning call as early as 0430am, one of our driver will pick you up and transfer you to the balloon ride meeting point. Meet other guests who will be joining you for this spectacular experience.

The Balloon takes off some minutes to 6am and in the next one hour you will be exploring the beauty of Masai Mara where you will capture the early morning Big 5 hunts as well as the beautiful sunrise.

The hot air balloon services is offered by an experienced company which have over 10 years of collective experience in both Hot Air Balloon Ride as well as Ground Safaris and hosting safari guests in the Mara, as well as other parts of East Africa.

After the ride you will land in the middle of Masai Mara and you will be received by our cook who will have prepared for you the executive continental Champagne breakfast. Dinner and accommodation Mara Ndovu Lodge or similar.

Day 3: Masai Mara Back to Nairobi

At 0600hrs, you will have a hot cup of coffee as a wake up boost breakfast and then proceed for the early morning drive, this will allow you to see the early morning big five kills if you are lucky.

You will then return to the camp for the main breakfast and check out from the camp. For those who would like to visit the famous Masai Village the driver will organize a visit for you.

After the Masai Village visit proceed back to Nairobi with lunch along the way in Narok or Mai Mahiu depending with the time.

Arrive in Nairobi late afternoon with a drop off back to your hotel of choice or back to the Airport to catch up with your flight if flying out the same day where the adventure comes to an end.
